Oklahoma CDL Oklahoma Medical Self-Certification and Electronic Reporting

Oklahoma distinguishes non-excepted interstate (NI), excepted interstate (EI), non-excepted intrastate (NA), and excepted intrastate (EA). The current Service Oklahoma licensing page requires a DOT medical certificate for NI licensing; another category can still require medical qualification while the CMV is actually being operated.

The current Oklahoma page lists narrow excepted activities such as qualifying school-bus, government, fire or rescue, custom-harvesting, limited farmer, emergency-propane, migrant-worker, seasonal-beekeeper, and certain personal or humanitarian operations. Excepted status applies only when the listed activity is the driver's only commercial operation.

Beginning February 17, 2026, Service Oklahoma no longer accepts paper Medical Examiner Certificates. A National Registry medical examiner submits Form MCSA-5876 to FMCSA, FMCSA sends it electronically to Oklahoma, and Service Oklahoma updates the commercial record.

A driver required to maintain medical qualification must renew before expiration and keep any variance current. A missing or expired required record can produce a not-certified status and loss or downgrade of commercial privileges until the official record is corrected.
