Oklahoma CDL Oklahoma Entry-Level Driver Training and Military Waiver

ELDT applies before the skills test for a first Class A or B CDL, a Class B-to-A upgrade, and first-time P or S endorsements. A first-time H applicant completes HazMat theory ELDT before the written H test. Training must be reported by a provider on the FMCSA Training Provider Registry.

The current Service Oklahoma page says ELDT is not required solely to remove an air-brake or automatic-transmission restriction. The applicant must still complete the knowledge, permit, representative-vehicle, and skills requirements that apply to the restriction removal.

Oklahoma's Military Skills Test Waiver applies to a currently licensed servicemember or qualifying veteran who is or was employed within the past 12 months in a military position requiring operation of an equivalent military CMV and meets the prescribed safe-driving and experience conditions.

The Oklahoma military program waives the CDL skills test only. It does not waive required knowledge exams, documentation, medical self-certification, ELDT when not otherwise exempt, endorsement conditions, or final credential issuance.
