Oklahoma CDL Knowledge Tests, Skills Tests, Fees, and Retesting

The Oklahoma CareerTech testing manual lists 50 General Knowledge questions, 25 Air Brakes, 30 Hazardous Materials, and 20 each for Combination Vehicles, Passenger, School Bus, Tank, and Doubles or Triples. Every CDL knowledge exam uses an 80-percent passing score and no listed time limit.

A failed knowledge exam requires a one-day wait before retesting. Service Oklahoma lists an additional four-dollar licensing charge for written or drive retests. Testing-provider scheduling charges can be separate from state credential charges.

After the 14-day CLP hold and required ELDT, the skills test proceeds through Vehicle Inspection, Basic Control Skills, and On-Road Driving. The applicant provides a safe, registered, insured, representative CMV and brings the CLP and DL18; Service Oklahoma does not supply the vehicle.

For an original four-year CDL, Service Oklahoma lists totals of $81.50 for Class A, $71.50 for Class B, and $61.50 for Class C. Eight-year totals are $138, $128, and $108 respectively. These totals combine the listed application and credential fees and can change.

Applicants may use a Service Oklahoma test location or an authorized third-party examiner where eligible. Third-party providers set their own rates and availability; the state credential and eligibility requirements still apply.
