Mississippi CDL Mississippi Entry-Level Driver Training and Military Skills Waiver

ELDT applies before the skills test for a first Class A or B CDL, a Class B-to-A upgrade, and first-time P or S endorsements. First-time H theory training must be complete before the H knowledge test. Training is reported by a provider on the FMCSA Training Provider Registry.

Mississippi permits the road-test appointment to be scheduled before required ELDT is complete, but the training must appear complete before the actual test. Otherwise the appointment is canceled.

The Mississippi waiver form applies to a currently licensed service member who is or was employed within the past 12 months in a military position requiring operation of a military vehicle equivalent to the requested CMV and who satisfies the driving-record conditions.

The form requires qualifying military CMV experience and records the highest equivalent vehicle class, brake system, and transmission. The resulting civilian authority and restrictions follow the verified equipment and class.

The standard Mississippi form waives only the CDL skills test. Required knowledge tests cannot be waived by that form, and the applicant must still satisfy documentation, medical, ELDT when applicable, endorsement, and final issuance requirements.
