Mississippi CDL Mississippi CLP Application, Renewal, and Supervised Practice

A CLP applicant holds a valid Mississippi driver license, supplies the required identity, Social Security, residency, lawful-status, name-change, and medical information, passes vision screening, and passes every knowledge module required for the intended class, brakes, and endorsements.

Mississippi Code provides a one-year CLP and permits only one renewal or reissuance within a two-year period. The current fee page still contains an older six-month label beside the fee; the later statute controls the current duration.

Federal CLP rules require the permit to be held for at least 14 days before the skills test. Required ELDT must also be complete before the actual test. Mississippi permits appointment scheduling before ELDT is finished, but cancels the test if the required training is still incomplete on test day.

On public roads the learner must be accompanied by a driver occupying the seat beside the learner who holds a CDL valid for the exact vehicle type. The learner must obey every class, endorsement, medical, P, X, and K restriction.
